More Racing In Verbier, Switzerland - For The Third Time

As well as filming and racing in Winterberg, Hamburg, and possibly Whistler BC near year, we will be racing once again in Verbier, Switzerland, on the 30th and 31st of May 2009, and this time we will film as much as possible. We will be capturing exactly what it feels like to race for a day, the things that can go wrong, and the fun and enjoyment that comes of it. Hopefully we will have better luck with the weather, and as always we will try to bring you the best footage we can.

Before then, we will try and do some filming in Hamburg, our hometown, with possible snow riding, and we will be going to Winterberg for some awesome freeriding as soon as the park opens - around May 1st 2009.

Racing In Verbier, Switzerland

The racing weekend was somewhat of a disaster, and almost everything that could go wrong did. The weather was horrible, with 15cm of mud on the tracks, heavy rain, and temperatures just above freezing. We had bike problems, almost missed our seeding run, and on our way back to Hamburg our flight was delayed. Nevertheless, we had a lot of fun over the weekend, and although we did not place very well in the race, we will definately be going racing again numerous times next year. However, we did not get to film the race at all due to our start times being so close together and due to the rain preventing us from taking out our equipment. We will be filming in Winterberg, Germany soon though, and we will possibly be taking a trip to the legendary bikepark of Whistler, Canada in the summer of 2009. Stay tuned for more information!

On Location In Verbier, Switzerland - Again

Exactly 1 month after we first came to Verbier, we're back again, this time to participate in the iXS Downhill Cup race this weekend. It is currently cold and raining, but nothing will put us off our first DH race. We'll try and get some nice footage of the race, if the weather improves a little...

Filming Of The iXS Swiss Downhill Cup in Verbier Switzerland

On the 13th and 14th of September, we will head over to Verbier once more to film and participate in the iXS Swiss Downhill Cup held there. We will be covering some of the best up and coming racers of today, and both Vivian and Felix will be taking part in the race too. Since this is our first race, this part of the movie will focus more on the lifestyle of the sport, and will show how younger people are devoted to the sport and how they have to earn their reputation and what challenges they face when trying to make it as a pro in DH. In this segment we will also try and make more frequent use of the cable cam, which was seldom used whilst we were filming in Verbier earlier in July.

This segment of the film will only be available on the Blu-Ray edition of the movie. Stay tuned for more information!

Next Filming Destination

Our next filming destination will be BikePark Winterberg in Germany. Winterberg is considered one of the best Bike Parks in Germany, and a segment of the iXS German Downhill Cup is held there every year. The park is full of Northshore and drops, and we will be concentrating more on filming those during this trip. More information soon!

Verbier Filming Week Over

We had a great week of riding and filming, and had a lot of fun. Due to bad weather on some occasions, damaged bikes, and other small problems, we didn't manage to film as much as we hoped, but we are still happy with the results. We had some hilarious crashes (most not on camera unfortunetely) and we were all battered and bruised at the end of the week. We got Felix's 8-year-old sister into downhilling, met some cool people, and overall had a great week.

Bad Weather In Verbier

Vivian is arriving in Verbier tommorow, and the weather doesn't seem to be turning out too well. There has been great weather over the past 2 weeks in Verbier, but there is currently thick clouds and heavy rain. The weather is expected to stay like this until Tuesday, where we should see some sun. Filming is not expected to be postponed.

Vivian's Ride

Vivian will be riding a rented 2008 Kona Stab Supreme for the Verbier secment of 2WO FO4R ZER0. For the rest of the 2008 season, he will be riding his 2006 Kona Stinky, which is fitted with Avid Code brakes (203 / 203), Crank Brothers 5050XX Silver / Pink Pedals, and a Truvativ Boxguide Chain Tensioner. He will be racing his Stinky in the iXS Downhill Cup race in Verbier on the 12th - 14th September with Felix, and 2WO FO4R ZER0 will include full race coverage of this event (only available on the Blu-Ray version of the movie).
